Bay Montessori School was founded in 1994 and is a member AMS school offering a comprehensive Montessori program for children ages 6 weeks to 6th grade. Located on 13 acres in Lexington Park, Maryland, our campus includes well-equipped classrooms, a library, pool, art studio, STEM lab, and age-appropriate playgrounds. The classroom environments follow the pattern set by Dr. Maria Montessori, specifically catering to the developmental needs of each child. Our facility allows children room to spread their wings and experience nature while being conveniently located near Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Montessori Assistant
Bay Montessori is looking for a Montessori Assistant to work in our 3-5-year-old classroom. This individual will also serve as our Lead Preschool Extended Care Teacher. They will work with other teachers to prepare and maintain the environment in which the Montessori approach to education is implemented. Responsibilities include the care and maintenance of classroom materials, maintaining an orderly environment, and keeping it clean and in like-new condition as directed. This individual must be flexible, able to work as a team member, and have a passion to work with the young child. Coursework and experience in early childhood are necessary. Preference is given to candidates with Montessori training and/or a college degree. This position can be full or part-time. Extended Care Teacher
Bay Montessori is looking for a part-time teacher to work in our aftercare program from 3-5 pm. This is a great opportunity for a college student or someone just entering the childcare field. They will work with other teachers to prepare and maintain the environment in which the Montessori approach to education is implemented. Responsibilities include the care and maintenance of classroom materials, maintaining an orderly environment, and keeping it clean and in like-new condition as directed. This individual must be flexible, able to work as a team member, and have a passion to work with the young child. Coursework and experience are not necessary but preferred. Bay offers a competitive hourly wage and professional development money to fund early childhood courses.
Infant Teacher
We are currently seeking an Infant Teacher to work with children ages 6 weeks to 14 months. This teacher will work with other teachers to prepare and maintain the environment in which the Montessori approach to education is implemented. They are directly responsible for the care and maintenance of classroom materials, maintaining an orderly environment, and keeping it clean and in like-new condition as directed. This individual must be flexible, able to work as a team member and have a passion to work with the young child. Coursework and experience in early childhood is necessary. Preference is given to candidates with Montessori training and/or a college degree. A full-time position offers health benefits, sick and personal days, and tuition discounts.
